Field expeditions 2009 in Puerto Rico and Curacao
In 2009, we continued our successful field work in Puerto Rico and extended our activities with a new location on the island of Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. Instead of giving workshops as we did in the past years, two teams formed by our most experienced members went parallely to both field sites in August for the spawning of the Elkhorn and Staghorn coral. Besides working on cryopreservation and culture of larvae for participating public aquaria, we carried out a pre-study for a large scale Acropora restoration project.
