Farewell to our parent colonies, farewell to our participants - WS GUAM 2014
The parent colonies had done their duty and the time had come for them to return home, back on the reef. We all lined up for a smooth logistic operation: transporting the corals to the beach, preparing epoxy cement, snorkeling out to the reef and handing corals and tools to the divers. In a fairly heavy surge, Mitch, Dirk and Jamie managed to attach the colonies to the reef, and carefully documented their status.

Thanks to Andrea Pierce (UnderwaterWorld Guam)—who arranged all our lunch meals throughout the workshop and a delicious BBQ meal for our last evening—we enjoyed a nice and relaxed farewell dinner at Gun Beach. Right before sunset, the SECORE T-shirts arrived, the perfect moment for a group shot!

We all look back at a wonderful workshop, with great results. Many participants shared how they loved working in the diverse group the SECORE initiative has to offer—with aquarists, researchers and scientists sharing information and learning from one another. And we would like thank all participants, organizers, partners and sponsors for their contribution to that. Without your efforts and hard work, it would not be possible.
