International gathering of coral experts - WS Mexico 2014
This will only be the beginning of sharing knowledge as teams prepare for the following weeks coral spawning.

Participants attended an icebreaker at the Park de Xcaret Aquarium and everyone was amazed with the beautiful coral exhibits and first class educational and conservation displays. The Aquarium exhibits receive a constant flow of natural seawater and natural sunlight creating excellent conditions for coral propagation. The event was a huge success where new friends were made and a great introduction to the 2014 workshop. Preparation for coral spawning is underway and any spare time is used to make nets, assembling kreisels and discussing spawning sites for the week.

Bob Snowden from the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium brought additional participants this year from SeaWorld San Antonio, Texas State Aquarium, Seattle Aquarium, Dallas Zoo and Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park, and additional staff from Pittsburgh.
