You want to get involved in teaching about our Oceans and Coral Reefs in particular, but you do not know where to start as you are lacking helpfully prepared materials? There is plenty of professional and lovingly compiled teaching material for you provided by our outreach partner Encounter Edu at free access!

This education program, supported by AXA Oceans Education, aims at engaging students aged 5-16 with professional, lively and interesting videos, images & slide shows, steam activities (experiments, games, and more), whole teaching units and single lessons about our oceans - you can take a look at the topic overview here and at the coral reef ecology in particular here.

The coral reef education material can be used as a stand-alone or companions to Encounter Edu's AXA XL Coral Live program, bringing the latest coral research to schools worldwide through their live broadcasts each year.

Encounter Edu is an internationally operating education agency based in the UK, specializing in ocean literacy. Since 2012, it has delivered the Coral Oceans education programme with AXA Oceans Education, growing from an outreach activity for the XL Catlin Seaview Survey to become a standalone education initiative.

With 10 years of working across the world, they have reached over 9.8 million students in 96 countries. All materials are free to access and standard aligned to the UK and USA curricula for geography and science. So far, the material is available in English only, but more languages are coming soon!

As an addition, you can always enjoy SECORE's educational science comic for kids - Coral Heroes in Adventures on the Reefs of Towabonga!
